Our founder, Attorney J. Richard Sokol, has a diverse professional background. Before becoming a lawyer, he has worked as a Roman Catholic priest, teacher and Deputy Sheriff. He also formerly ran a youth center. Throughout each step of his career, attorney Sokol has skillfully intervened in difficult situations and counseled families on resolving issues and obtaining meaningful solutions that serve the needs of children.
Since being admitted to the bar in 1976, Richard went on to become a Deputy District Attorney, serving the people of Sacramento County, working closely with the Department of Child Support Services. Richard began our firm in 1993, attorney Sokol has continued his dedication to caring for children's interests. He encourages parents to set aside their differences and take parental responsibility for their children's future.
